Swedish conglomerate SKF has received two 'Best Plant' awards for outstanding performance in quality and logistics in manufacturing excellence for its factories in St Cyr, France and Tudela, Spain. The awards were given during the PSA Group's Best Supplier Awards ceremony held on June 16th in Poissy, France.
Aldo Cedrone, Director of Bearing Manufacturing in the Automotive Market, SKF, noted that their company is happy to receive the recognition for their hard work, adding: "In addition to the nominations strengthening our partnership with PSA, these awards provide further acknowledgement that we deliver on our brand promise and the high expectations set by the PSA Group."

SKF has been a supplier to PSA for more than 40 years. The products supplied are bearings to the wheel-end, suspension, gearbox, clutch, and engine as well as engine seals equipping several of PSA vehicle models. It has been recently announced that SKF supplies the newly-launched Citroen C4 Cactus and Peugeot 2008.

The company was founded on Sven Wingqvist's 1907 Swedish patent No. 25406, a multi-row self-aligning radial ball bearing. The new ball bearing was successful from the outset. By 1912, SKF was represented in 32 countries and by 1930, a staff of over 21, 000 were employed in 12 manufacturing facilities worldwide with the largest in Philadelphia, PA. Annual sales in 2014 were 2.24 billion SEK (Swedish Krona) and the number of employees was 44, 740.
